Jumala Release Notes from Sept. 26
Check out the newest release notes for Jumala for the build released Oct. 3. A lot of new features and fixes added to the game.
New Features:
- Backpack Objects - Keys to open things!
- Run over Buffs - Speed up
- Health Collectibles - Heal up
- Consumables - You now buy things in the store by quantity instead of infinite quantities.
- We didn't remove anything from your inventory so if you have infinites, well done!
- You can pick back up Consumable objects that have been placed and replace them in your inventory.
- Particle Emitters - Place particle effects in your game and edit them.
- Shootable targets - activate things by shooting them.
- Two different attacks - Ranged projectile and special attack (Try all the avatars to see what they now do!)
- Action bar showing the attack cooldowns is also present in the Play UI now as well.
- For projectile attacks, we draw a target icon on the enemy we are currently targeting.
- Avatar Selection - You can change your avatar on the dashboard now
- To access, click the little silhouette icon near your avatar picture on the dashboard.
- Friendly fire is now OFF - You can no longer be hit by your own projectiles or special attacks.
- But the enemies no longer hit themselves either, so they are a bit tougher.
- Comments on Store Items - You can place comments on the items in the store. Pass along your opinions on what to buy.
- Lots of new sound effects for things.
- Action Triggers - You can now match things that send events to the things that consume them instead of only the other way around.
- We also draw lines showing you which objects have triggers that are attached to other objects listening for them.
- Objects that can consume triggered events are now color coded to show you where you can hook up the trigger.
Fixes:
- Fixed a crash in the Particle Systems where the counts didn't match and could cause a premature exit from the game.
- Fixed the selection bug where you couldn't select a smaller object that was on top of a larger object.
- Fixed the particle system to not use point sprites, we now draw quads that are not limited in size to 256x256 pixels on screen.
- Fixed a crash where if you died in a game and hit Esc and return to the dashboard, we would crash seconds later trying to respawn you in the game that has gone away.
- Fixed a crash when pushing the big delete button on a selected waypoint for a moving platform.
- -Taking screen shots for publishing will no longer include the lovely wisp in the screen shot.
- Fixed a crash where the ray cast to determine where you are pointed on the terrain would off into infinity. Thanks Metouto!!
- Fixed a crash where shutting down a sound effect didn't happen thoroughly enough.
- Fixed projectile orientation to match the thrower so things don't some out sideways no more.
- More lighting performance improvments.
- We don't draw lights that are too dim to show up.
- We do a much better job telling difference between static and dynamic lights.
- Projectiles no longer cause the hitch on firing they were when they had lights on them.
- Fix for crash on exiting a game where we left some stuff set of the graphics device we then tried to dispose.
